The short version
Use Volda fairly and legally, pay your subscription on time, and your volunteer data is yours — always. We will look after it carefully and give you everything you need to take it with you if you ever leave. If something goes wrong, we will work with you to fix it.
The service
Volda is a volunteer management platform operated by Turboweb Services Ltd, a New Zealand registered company. These terms apply to your use of the Volda website at www.volda.nz and the application at app.volda.nz.
When we say “Volda”, “we”, “us”, or “our”, we mean Turboweb Services Ltd. When we say “you” or “your”, we mean the organisation or individual using the platform.
Accepting these terms
By creating a Volda account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you are signing up on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use Volda — and feel free to contact us at volda@turboweb.co.nz if you have questions before signing up.
Free trial
New accounts start with a free trial period so you can explore the platform without commitment. During the trial you have access to all features of the plan you selected.
No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of your trial period, you can choose to subscribe or let your account expire. We will send you a reminder before your trial ends.
Billing and plans
Volda is offered on monthly or annual subscription plans. Current pricing is shown at volda.nz/pricing. Prices are in New Zealand dollars and exclude GST unless otherwise stated.
Monthly plans are billed at the start of each billing period. Annual plans are billed upfront for 12 months. If you upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle, any difference is applied as a credit or prorated charge on your next invoice.
If a payment fails, we will notify you and allow a grace period to update your payment details before suspending access. We will not delete your data during a payment grace period.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings — no hoops, no phone calls required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you retain access until then.
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but if you have a genuine concern please contact us — we will always try to be reasonable.
Your data is yours
The volunteer data you store in Volda belongs to your organisation. We act as a data processor — we store and process it only as you direct through your use of the platform. We will never sell it, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it for anything other than running Volda on your behalf.
You can export your data at any time in CSV format from your account settings. If you close your account, we will delete your data within 30 days of your request.
Security commitments
We take security seriously and have built it into the platform from the ground up:
- Sensitive fields in volunteer profiles are encrypted at the field level — not just at rest
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS — plain HTTP is never used
- Role-based access control ensures your team only sees what they need to see
- Audit logs record key actions within the platform
- The platform is hosted on Vercel infrastructure with enterprise-grade security controls
In the event of a security incident affecting your account, we will notify you promptly and take immediate steps to contain and resolve it.
Acceptable use
Volda is built for legitimate volunteer management. By using the platform you agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Store or process data you do not have permission to hold
- Attempt to access another organisation's data or circumvent any security controls
- Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or abuse the platform in a way that degrades service for others
- Resell or sublicense access to the platform without our written permission
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that materially violate these terms. We will always try to reach out first unless the situation requires immediate action to protect other users or the platform.
Uptime and availability
We work hard to keep Volda reliable and available. We aim for high availability but we do not offer a formal uptime guarantee at this time. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
If the platform experiences an outage, we will communicate status updates and work to restore service as quickly as possible.
Limitation of liability
Volda is provided in good faith and we stand behind the quality of the platform. However, to the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law:
- We provide the service "as is" without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period will not exceed the total fees you paid to us in that period
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand legislation.
Termination
You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. We will confirm closure, schedule deletion of your data within 30 days, and provide a final export if you request one.
We may terminate or suspend access if you materially breach these terms and do not remedy the breach after reasonable notice. In the event we decide to discontinue Volda entirely, we will give you at least 90 days notice and help you export your data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify account holders by email at least 14 days before the new terms take effect. The updated date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
Continued use of Volda after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree with an update, you may close your account before the effective date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand. We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and prefer to work things out directly before any formal process.
